from 44.00

Name: Pastor Simon Peter Akol

Date of Birth:  4/25/1989

Written by Becky Sekamanya, Ezekiel 37 Director:  "I've known Pastor Simon for 2 years now. He has proven himself to be trustworthy, hardworking, and dependable.  He and his wife have been struggling to survive and provide for their small family.  They have a beautiful little girl, Collin, who will be 2 years old in September.  Collin is their second born.  They also had a baby boy who passed away when he was just 4 months old from a tragic accident when left in the care of a babysitter.

Pastor Simon asked me if I could assist him with going back to school to obtain his Teaching Certificate.  If there is anyone I can recommend for assistance with this, it is Pastor Simon.  When we started building Akigyeno School he was the one on the site everyday making sure things were going along smoothly.  He has hopes of being able to teach in the Akigyeno classrooms one day."

Biography written by Pastor Simon Peter Akol:  “I am born to the family of Mr. Loogos John and Mrs. Kolibi Chichihia.  My father was blinded by someone who bewitched him when we were still young.  It became very hard for my mother to raise me.  We are 3 in number (3 children) in our family and among the others it’s only me who has tried to reach a higher level but the rest remained and stopped at primary level schooling.

Education Background:  I started school in 2002 in Kalotom Primary School and I continued up to Primary 7 where I did my Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).  In 2009, I joined Triangle Senior Secondary School from Senior 1 – Senior 4 where I sat for my Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).  In 2013-2014 I went for my advanced level, Senior 5 and 6.

All of the above was a struggle and I was unable to reach my expectation.  In primary school, Sister Rosario of Catholic Charity came in to help but after PLE she stopped there and I was forced to move to Iganga.

While in Iganga I started a small business locally called Mutebeii which means a business of moving from one place to another.  This business helped me in my education from Senior 1 to Senior 6 because I could get some small money for paying some of the school supplies.  The government was paying my school fees but I was responsible for all of the requirements such as uniform, shoes, books, pens, pencils, everything.  So that’s how I managed to take a step in my education even if the performance in Senior 6 was not very good because I would be moving looking for money during the school breaks and left me little time of concentration of reading and studying my books.  Then it reached a time where the business stopped so I moved back to Karamoja and now I have stayed at home for about 4 years.  In the last 4 years, I have gotten married to a woman named, Lorot Lilly and we have little girl named, Kolibi Gifty Collin who will be 2 in September 2018.  Last year I was ordained as a Pastor in the Pentecostal Assemblies of God.  I pastor a small church in Kangole, Uganda.

I have faced a challenge of taking care of my family since the level of education I stopped cannot enable to me to get a job which will earn enough to care for them.  I would like it if there was someone who can stand and support me to move to another level in my education.  I have an interest in teaching.  I would like to obtain my teaching certificate so that I can become a teacher and provide for my family.  Thank you and may God bless you for reading my biography."
